![]() Wicked Brew roles: Bass guitar, organ, backing vocals, producer/engineer, occasional songwriting, webmaster, some booking, and designated driver.
Personal Notes: I learned to play bass by watching my Momma's mighty left hand on the upright Baldwin piano at Shiloh Church in Hog Branch, Louisiana. My high school band Kasino started as a Skynyrd cover band before branching out to originals. We played the Cajun-Redneck festival circuit across Louisiana. I ended up in NYC for about ten years playing great clubs like CBGBs, Mercury Lounge, and Eric Roscoe Ambel's Lakeside Lounge as a member of several bands. I even appeared onstage as the bassist the off-Broadway play "Slut!" Life was pretty fun in the Big Apple, but after a while I needed a little more elbow room and headed back south. You can check out more details about me on my personal website, HogBranch.com here. Click on the pic at right to visit my mySpace page. Musical Influences: In my early years, Skynyrd, Elvis, Cash, Hank Sr. and Jr., Waylon, David Allan Coe, Charlie Rich, Kris Kristofferson, Ole Time Gospel Hour, Porter and Dolly, Sleepy LaBeef, Allman Brothers. Later, there was Lucinda Williams, Leon Russell, Springsteen, Charles Mingus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sly Stone, The Meters, Dr. John, Son Volt, Beastie Boys. Currently, I'd have to say Bobby Pinson, Citizen Cope, Shooter, and Dale Watson. |
